Most couriers won’t tell you until you’ve filled in a form. We will: our same-day rate starts at £35 for the first 10 miles, then £1.30 per mile after that, including VAT. That’s for a car or small van — larger vehicles cost more — and the mileage is one-way, from collection to delivery.

So a cross-London run is usually £40–£70, and London to Birmingham or Manchester lands somewhere between £180 and £290 depending on the exact postcodes.
What drives the price
- Distance — the mileage from collection to delivery is the biggest factor.
- Vehicle — a small van, a large van or a two-person crew for heavy or oversized items.
- Urgency & timing — an immediate, dedicated collection or an out-of-hours job may differ from a scheduled run.
- Waiting or multi-drop — extra stops or wait-and-return time.
Why most same-day couriers won’t publish a rate
A parcel network can publish flat rates because it batches thousands of parcels through depots. A same-day courier gives you a whole vehicle and driver for your job alone, so the price reflects your specific route rather than an average — which is the reason most firms hide it behind a quote form.
We’d rather show the rate and let you do the maths yourself. The only things that move a job off the standard rate are a bigger vehicle, a two-person lift, waiting time or extra drops — and we’ll tell you before you commit, not after.
