Most couriers won’t tell you until you’ve filled in a form. We will: our same-day rate starts at £35 for the first 10 miles, then £1.30 per mile after that, including VAT. That’s for a car or small van — larger vehicles cost more — and the mileage is one-way, from collection to delivery.

What that works out at

DistanceFrom
10 miles£35
25 miles£54.50
50 miles£87
100 miles£152
200 miles£282

Indicative, VAT included, based on a car or small van. Heavier loads, larger vehicles and out-of-hours work are priced individually.

So a cross-London run is usually £40–£70, and London to Birmingham or Manchester lands somewhere between £180 and £290 depending on the exact postcodes.

What drives the price

  • Distance — the mileage from collection to delivery is the biggest factor.
  • Vehicle — a small van, a large van or a two-person crew for heavy or oversized items.
  • Urgency & timing — an immediate, dedicated collection or an out-of-hours job may differ from a scheduled run.
  • Waiting or multi-drop — extra stops or wait-and-return time.

Why most same-day couriers won’t publish a rate

A parcel network can publish flat rates because it batches thousands of parcels through depots. A same-day courier gives you a whole vehicle and driver for your job alone, so the price reflects your specific route rather than an average — which is the reason most firms hide it behind a quote form.

We’d rather show the rate and let you do the maths yourself. The only things that move a job off the standard rate are a bigger vehicle, a two-person lift, waiting time or extra drops — and we’ll tell you before you commit, not after.

How to get the best value

  • Give accurate details — correct postcodes and item size mean an accurate quote first time.
  • Book early where you can — though we’re 24/7, so last-minute is never a problem.
  • Ask about accounts — regular users benefit from a business account with agreed pricing.
